They are urging everyone to save this number to their mobile and home telephones to make sure it is always to hand if it’s ever needed. Whilst informing Manx Gas immediately is the priority, there are also a few basic rules everyone should follow if you smell gas;

DON’T smoke, strike matches or turn electric switches on or off.

DO put out any naked flames, open doors and windows, keep away from the affected area, turn off the gas at the control valve and ring 0808 1624 444.
